Euhumanist Soldier by povorot Euhumanist Soldier by povorot
What the culture that built the habitat (from "habitat") looks like after a few generations trapped down a gravity well. I'm starting to scheme about what project to embark on next, now that i have the end of this story planned. Maybe exploring some themes of colonialism, transhumanism, and eugenics?

Show us more of this universe please. How exactly did the Habitat get so fucked up? And what happens to the survivors now that they have re-established contact with the outside world?

The first question might not get a good answer, but the second is one that i'm currently ruminating on now. I'm imagining that the posthumans that have allowed contact might be keeping the more malicious posthuman gods out of the habitat - kind of a god-powered UN peacekeeping force... but more importantly, how will these various human groups learn to co-exist after a few generations of cannibalistic warfare? its hard to let something like that just go by the wayside...

What physiological differences do you think he'd have from "us"?

oooh i like that question - and its one i hadnt thought about yet! A similar question - what would be different between a human resident of star trek's 'federation' and a normal modern human?

Your art is epic! Everything looks like it has a history, that there's something behind it.

Love transhumanism! Hopefully, I can do some transhumanist characters in a future story of mine. :)

Do you do commissions?

sorry for not responding to this - i do do commissions! (gimme a holler at simonamroy at gmail dot com)

And thanks for the kind words - I'm extremely committed to making 'convincing' work, and building a world around it that feels properly lived in is something i try to take great pains to accomplish! I love the whole transhuman end of things too, but goddamn if they're not hard to work with - how do you humanize a space god and it's motivations?

I'll try to do that sometime! I'll consider giving you a commission if I can think of something at the moment. :)

Well, just because something is a God doesn't mean it's a flawless, perfect entity. Even in mythology Gods were often depicted to be as human as their creations, such as in Greek mythology.

Such a being, descending from a human, would probably have an ensentially human mental state, so it wouldn't be too hard to work with. The real area of interest is exploring how such power and what I'm assuming is a nonhuman body structure (if it has a body at all) would affect its psyche and behavior.

well and more importantly, what are the needs and wants of a near-omnipotent immortal? The greek gods are basically just immortals with all the same lusts and hungers as mortal men - but I imagine transcending death and physical want would rearrange your hierarchy of needs... with your sense and abilities so much greater then the average meat puppet's, your motivations for intervening in the fate of the habitat might have some more complexity then the average military intervention.
Though they might not!

Just think....what a human do in a God's body? I'd think there'd be multiple different results.
